Jamie has been playing drums for over 8 years. He first started playing and taking drum lessons with school drum tutor Paul Ashman at age 13. After a year of taking lessons achieving Grades 1 and 2 with only a small electric kit to practice with, he finally received his first acoustic kit for Christmas and hasn't looked back since.  When he was just 14 he joined his first band and went on to play his first gigs. Jamie was always hanging around the music rooms and took every chance he could during lunch times to practice with his other school mates jamming for as long as possible and sharing different drumming ideas. In 2009 he completed his Grade 8 for the drum kit with local teacher Andy Griffiths.

In 2010 Jamie completed a Higher Diploma in Music Performance for the Drums at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) where he took lectures from such fantastic drummers as Pete Riley, Paul Elliott, Mike Sturgis, Stu Roberts and Dan Foord. Here he greatly improved his technique, groove, theory knowledge and overall confidence in his playing, as well as gaining experience in playing with many great musicians.  In July 2010 after completing his course at ACM, Jamie auditioned for Contagious Vibes and has been a core member ever since. He loves performing with Contagious Vibes and thinks the line-up is as strong as it ever has been!

Now age 21, Jamie has a huge number of gigs and festivals already under his belt. His most memorable would be performing at the brand new Olympic Park during the London 2012 games with his other project Old Colours. Jamie also has a massive number of hits on YouTube of various drum covers, the largest amount of views being 134,000!  Jamie's main influences include: John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree), John Blackwell (Prince) and Benny Greb (Independent). Jamie is known mainly for his pocket groove, solid time keeping and great feel.  He considers himself a powerful Rock drummer but his repertoire varies widely from this as he has completed many gigs from Funk to Reggae.

When not drumming or practicing, Jamie is busy with his other passion, sport. He plays Football, Table Tennis and Ice Hockey regularly, and is fanatic about Chelsea Football Club! He's also a proud finisher of the 2011 Dublin Marathon.
